Lowe's National Sales Meeting 2009

Lowe\'s | Las Vegas, NV, 2009

What It Was

Home improvement retailer Lowe's gathered an audience of 2,500 retail store managers, regional and corporate staff at Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas for two days of celebrating their victories and defining future challenges.

What We Did

Working as both lighting and media designers with producers GO! Productions, Lightswitch crafted both an effective lighting system, as well as a dynamic, immersive low resolution LED solution. Martin LC LED panels wrapped the audience with a giant 400’ wide panorama, filled with content specific images that took the messaging from the stage and primary screens, amplified it and delivered it to every seat in the house.

Why It Worked

Effective lighting design is a hallmark of Lightswitch, and this project was no exception.

However, the use of low resolution LED and other ‘smart scenery’ technology can offer significant hidden budget challenges to producers. There is potential for pre production media creation expenses to turn what can be a cost effective production element into a budget-devouring monster.

Lightswitch’s approach to this challenge is to combine a creative, experienced, nimble on site design team with an extensive library of Lightswitch stock media and powerful media servers. By working hand in hand with the producers graphic designers, this approach results in an extremely rapid and cost effective on site media design process, that helps drive pre production costs to an absolute minimum.

The success of the Lowe's project was a perfect example of this approach – close collaboration with the GO! Production’s graphics team resulted in a tailor made media experience that was largely prepared on site with minimal pre production expense.
