Hyperion | Arie Crown Theater, Chicago, IL, 2007

What It Was

Hyperion Solutions and the Kenwood Group called upon Lightswitch to create the lighting as well as the projected scenic backdrop for the general session meeting in Chicago's Arie Crown Theater.

What We Did

Lightswitch coordinated and advised the art direction for the Pigi projection. The projected imagery was designed to be cohesive with all the branding and wayfinding materials for the two day conference. Hyperion's graphic identity is a specific organic style of illustration and we ensured that this style was maintained in the projected images. Lightswitch also provided technical production assistance, advising the client on the technical capabilities of the large format projectors.

Why It Worked

Lightswitch's ability to bring the client a cohesive lighting and projection design delivered a show that was visually stimulating. The projection system was designed to be as economical as possible, two projectors were used to cover a screen that was 76' wide by 32' tall. As always, the budget was tight but this type of projection was able to deliver the imagery that the customers identify with Hyperion. The lighting was also integral to the success of the overall show. Automated fixtures functioned as scenic treatment as well as stage lighting which provided a high impact, low budget solution for the client.
